Transite Technology Introduces Low-Cost, Basic Desktop Tool To Get Quick Shipping Prices

Transite Rapid Rate Client product benefits customers who only want least-cost carrier rates

RALEIGH, NC—August 11, 2009—Transite Technology, a leading provider of logistic and shipping cost-management software and services, has introduced Rapid Rate Client, a desktop LTL, TL, and small package transportation costing application for customers who want a cost-effective way to get their true shipping charges quickly and simply before shipping.

“The market is full of customers who simply want their actual cost options– and nothing more–so they can make a quick and informed decision based on their own cost and service standards,” said Geoff Comrie, CEO of Transite. “These customers have done a good job in negotiating their carrier agreements but do not have the business case to justify the expense or complication of an integrated transportation management system.”

Transite’s Rapid Rate Client product combines a user-friendly interface with Transite’s comprehensive, web-hosted contract management system. Negotiated carrier agreements, transit times, fuel indexes and rate bases are loaded into Transite’s Contract Manager and users simply send shipping queries from the Transite Rapid Rate Client screen. Least-cost carrier prices are returned in “real time” to the user. Sales, customer service, and transportation departments would be typical functions using this new product.
